Gelechia muscosella, the grey sallow groundling, is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It is widely distributed in Europe (except the Mediterranean region). Outside of Europe, it is found in the Caucasus, Siberia and the Russian Far East.[2] The habitat consists of damp fenlands and shingle beaches.

The wingspan is 14–18 mm.[3] Adults are on wing from mid-June to early September.[4]

The larvae feed on Salix and Populus species. They feed in the catkins of their host plant.[5]
