"Get Down" is the debut single by Canadian boy band b4-4 from their debut self-titled album, B4-4. The song was very successful in Canada, peaking at #4 on Canada's Singles Chart.[1] The song was also featured on MuchDance 2001. The song's producers, Jason Levine and James McCollum, were nominated for "Best Producer" for the song at the 2001 Juno Awards.[2]

Content

Since its release, the song has become infamous for its suggestive lyrics, which are thinly veiled references to oral sex. Ed the Sock, a MuchMusic denizen, castigated the song as a "sugar-coated fellatio fest".[3]

Ryan and Dan Kowarsky later admitted the song was about oral sex.[4]

Music video

The music video begins with a young boy walking and seeing a homeless man on the street, who asks for money. The boy has no money and continues walking, until he stumbles upon a View-Master stereoscope left in the garbage. After looking through the lens of the stereoscope, he gains popularity and wealth as b4-4 dance and sing. At the end, he gives the stereoscope to the homeless man.

Ethan Klein of the YouTube channel h3h3 Productions lampooned the song and its music video in a video titled "Ethan Joins a 90s Boy Band," uploaded on April 16, 2016. In the video, he also imitated b4-4's image and created a parody of the song with Schmoyoho. As of August 22, 2016, the video has over 2.5 million views.[5]
