Glenys Hanna Martin (born October 27, 1958) is a Bahamian politician who is the Minister of Transport and Aviation of The Bahamas and a member of the Bahamian Parliament from Englerston. [1]

Personal life

Glenys Hanna Martin was born in Nassau on October 27, 1958 to the Arthur Dion Hanna and Beryl Church Hanna. [1] She was married to Leon 'Onni' Martin for thirty years until his death in 2013. [2]

Career

Hanna Martin was elected to the Bahamian Parliament from Englerston in 2002. When Hanna Martin was elected Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party in 2008, she became the first women to hold the position of Chairman of a political party in The Bahamas. She became the Minister of Transport and Aviation of The Bahamas in 2012. [1]
