Grenville Secondary School is a co-educational institution located in Grenville in the parish of St. Andrews, Grenada. Founded in 1983 it has a student population of 400 to 500 students and a teaching staff of over 20. The school's motto is 'Together We Build in Love' (Latin: Vna Amore Aedificare).

History

On September 9, 1983, the Grenville Secondary School came into being as Jeremiah Richardson[1] Secondary School, with 116 students and six staff members. Mr. Stephen Wall was the first principal while Mrs. R. Reuben, D. Beggs, E. Samuel and Misses E. Charles and P. Scoon were first teachers appointed by the Ministry of Education [2] to start the school. At the end of the first month, there were 186 students enrolled; 46 of these were transferred to the school from St. Andrew's Junior Secondary School after passing an examination set by the institution, and the remainder comprised students who passed the 'School Leaving' exams, or came on transfer from other secondary schools.

Misses L. Bubb and D. Roberts joined the staff on the 15th of the same month. Mrs. S Campbell and Mr. C. McIntyre of the Junior Secondary School were asked to teach Home economics and Industrial Arts respectively.

The principal is Mrs. Vashti Stanislaus-Williams.
