Hank LaValle

This article is about an obituary transferred from the Kingston Whig Standard. For other uses, see 1864.

Hank LaValle was a Kingston resident. Born in 1845, he came from a poor family and worked as a farmhand. His childhood was difficult due to having to work instead of going to school. He read and wrote at a grade four level.

His death in 1864 sparked outrage because of its violent nature as well as having taken place on Christmas. He was shot in the leg after a dispute over land ownership.
