Hariram

Baba Hariram (1867–1947) was a saint who lived in Jhorda village, Rajasthan. He is widely considered by local people as a 'god of snakes...who cures snake bites'.

Birth and early life

He was born at Jhorda village 30 km far from Nagaur city of Rajasthan and developed as a local saint of Jhorda .He was from Joshi clan of Brahmins.[1] He was a Vaidh,the doctor.He did not discriminate between different castes for treatment.His brother opposed him doing so,later as legend goes after seeing a miracle his brother understood the truth.

Devotees and beliefs

Devotees of Baba Hariram are mainly found in Rajasthan, Haryana and sounthern Punjab. Devotees of Baba Hariram believe that person suffering from snake bite can be cured with blessings of Baba Hariram.

Every year in the month of Bhadrapad Chaturthy & Panchmi a big annual fair is held here where about 1-2 lac people participate who come from Rajasthan, U.P., Haryana, .
