Helena Waithera (born 31 October 1988) is a Kenyan actress known for her role in soap opera, Tabasamu.[1] She is most notable for playing villainous roles in several TV series.

Early life

Helena Waithera is a Kenyan actress well known for her role in the TV series Tabasamu, where she played the role of "Gabby" which saw her nominated for best actress in a TV series at the chaguo la teeniez awards in 2011. Helena made her debut on TV playing the main role of "Milka" a young girl orphaned by HIV in the TV series Heartbeat fm. She was born on October 31, 1988 in Nyeri, Central Kenya. She studied Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Nairobi.[2][2]

Career

Helena made her debut on TV playing the main role of Milka a girl orphaned by HIV in the TV series Heartbeat fm. She also featured in the series Maisha on K24 that revolved around drugs and sex. She played the role of eve, an investigative journalist who was out to get to the bottom of the kidnapping of a girl. In 2010, she joined the cast of then hit television series, Tabasamu as Gabby a mean and hot tempered young rich girl. In 2010 she starred in television series Maisha.[3] In 2013,she also starred on House of Lungula.[4] She plays Zahara, who opens up her friend to the reality of the possibility of her cheating husband. In 2014, she went on to feature in the series Jane and Abel by Spielworks media. She plays Lucy a concubine to Abel's character. In 2015, Helena sort to play in Kikuyu language television series uriru wa wendo on Inooro TV.[5] In 2015 she was one of the main cast members in film Blind Fame.[6] The film which stars Gerald Langiri, Neville Misati, Kevin Omondi. Raymond Ofula, Pierra Mckena, Helena Waithera, Shirleen Wangari, and Sharon Kachela.
