Helsinki Rugby Club is a Finnish rugby club in Helsinki.

History

The inspiration to form Helsinki RC came - appropriately enough - during some rugby discussions over a few pints in Molly Malone’s Irish Bar in Helsinki between some rugby friends in 1999. In their first season, Helsinki Rugby Club played one game, which was narrowly lost to a visiting team from Sweden.

The club logo shows the nationalities involved in the formation of the club: Finnish, English, French, South African and Australian. The club colors are taken from the Finnish Flag, blue and white.

Helsinki Rugby Club men's first team has been crowned Finnish Champions in 2002, 2003 and 2014 as well as Finnish Cup Champions in 2003 and 2005. The men's 7's team has been Finnish Champions in 2010, 2015 and 2016.

The Helsinki Rugby Club ladies first team has been Finnish Champions in 2015 and the 7's team Finnish Champions in 2016.
