Henry Bishop (priest)

Henry Bishop (c,1800–1857) was an English priest and academic, fellow of Oriel College, University of Oxford.[1] He was the third son of Samuel Willson Bishop, a London merchant who moved to Oxford.[2]

Bishop was a member of the Royal Commission into the Operation of the Poor Laws 1832 which reformed the Poor Law system in England and Wales.[3] He died at Tunbridge Wells on 10 April 1857, at age 64.[4]
