The Hua-chuang Automobile Information Technical Center Co., Ltd. or HAITEC was established in December 2005 led by its parent company, Yulon, to provide a cross-disciplinary platform for Taiwan’s automotive industries. HAITEC Design Center is a subsidiary of Taiwanese automotive company, Yulon. Inheriting over thirty years of experience from Yulon Group, HAITEC is unparalleled in building intelligent cars, electronic subsystems and components. In 2009, Yulon's own Luxgen brand launched its first automotive product, the Luxgen7 MPV developed by HAITEC. The product was sold not only in Taiwan, but also in other parts of the world such as Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Russia and several Middle East countries.[1]

In July, 2014, HAITEC Japan was founded after Kazutoshi Mizuno, former GT-R chief engineer became Vice President of HAITEC.[2] Leveraging HAITEC Japan as a platform through broader connectivity with world class technology suppliers to be the role as an advanced technical development center for Luxgen vehicles. As the company is bringing new platforms to market and is expanding to new regions, Mizuno’s involvement with HAITEC will help bring the overall quality of Luxgen’s cars up to a global standard. Mizuno will also be developing and positioning automotive platforms, specifically upcoming EV offerings, as the Yulon owned company seeks to round out its automotive lineup by 2018.[3]

History

The Predecessor of HAITEC

Yulon Asia Technical Center was established in 1981 to lay the foundation for automotive research and development capability. The starting point of the predecessor of HAITEC started when Yulon invested heavily in a new R&D center (Sanyi) and having spent five years in development,[4] hiring 300 technicians and spending NT $2 billion in the process to develop its first own automotive product branded as a Yue Loong (Yulon before the name change in 1993) product, the Yue Loong Feeling or Yue Loong Arex.
