Hurricane Florence

The name Florence has been used for nine tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean, and five tropical cyclones in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, making it the most used storm name. It was used in the Pacific before the formal naming system was instituted, and then with the old four-year lists. In the Atlantic, "Florence" was added to the new lists created in 1979. After the 2007 season, it is the only "F" name that was on the lists during the first use.
