Hurricane Michael

The name Michael is one of the original names assigned by the World Meteorological Organization to its set of six rotating sets of names for tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean which were first used in 1979. It has been used for two tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean. Both storms named Michael have reached hurricane intensity. The first occurrence of "Michael" as a name was in 2000, after the active period of tropical activity in the Atlantic started. Due to an inactive year in 2006, "Michael" was not used.
