Hwajeong-myeon (Hangul: 화정면; Hanja: 華井面), also called as Hwajeong Township, or shortly Hwajeong, is a myeon (township) in Yeosu city of South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The myeon is located in southern and south-western part of the city. The total area of the myeon is 27.48 square kilometres, and, as of the last day of 2010, the population was 3540 people, 1764 houses. The township hall is located in Baegya-ri, and address of the township hall is 8-11, Baegya 3-gil, Hwajeong-myeon. Hwayang-myeon and Jangsu Bay is norther, Yeoja Bay is north-wester, Gamak Bay and Dolsan-eup is north-easter, Nam-myeon is easter, Yeongnam-myeon, Goheung County is wester, and the South Sea is souther. The myeon is made of only islands.[1]

Gaedo-ri

Gaedo-ri (Hangul: 개도리) has six haengjeongri: Wolhang(월항), Sinheung(신흥), Hwasan(화산), Yeoseok(여석), Mojeon(모전) and Horyeong(호령). The main island is Gaedo.

Nangdo-ri

Nangdo-ri (Hangul: 낭도리) has three haengjeongri: Sado(사도), Yeosan(여산) and Gyupo(규포). The main island is Nangdo.

Baegya-ri

Baegya-ri (Hangul: 백야리) has two haengjeongri: Baegya(백야) and Hwabaek(화백). It has Township hall. The main island is Baegyado. It is connected with Anpo-ri, Hwayang-myeon by the bridge named Baegyadaegyo, the part of National Route 77.

Sanghwa-ri

Sanghwa-ri (Hangul: 상화리) has only one haengjeongri: Sanghwa(상화). The main island is Sanghwado.

Yeoja-ri

Yeoja-ri (Hangul: 여자리) has only one haengjeongri: Yeoja(여자). The main island is Daeyeojado and Soyeojado. It is located in the center of the Yeoja Bay. Yeoja Bay was named after these two islands' name.

Wolho-ri

Wolho-ri (Hangul: 월호리) has two haengjeongri: Wolho(월호) and Jabong(자봉). The main island is Wolhodo.

Jeokgeum-ri

Jeokgeum-ri (Hangul: 적금리) has only one haengjeongri: Jeokgeum(적금). The main island is Jeokgeumdo. When the bridge named Jeokgeumdaegyo, the part of National Route 77, will be opened, it will be connected with Yeongnam-myeon, Goheung County.

Jedo-ri

Jedo-ri (Hangul: 개도리) has only one haengjeongri: Jedo(제도). The main island is Jedo.

Jobal-ri

Jobal-ri (Hangul: 조발리) has two haengjeongri: Jobal(조발) and Dunbyeong(둔병). The main island is Jobaldo.

Hahwa-ri

Hahwa-ri (Hangul: 하화리) has only one haengjeongri: Hahwa(하화). The main island is Hahwado.

Transport

It has National Route 77, and one bridge, Baegyadaegyo, is on this route now. A lot of bridges, such as Jeokgeumdaegyo, are planned in this route.[4]
