Ian David "Big Joe" Battye (birth registered July→September 1952[1] – 28 February 2007) birth registered in Barkston Ash district, was a professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s, playing at club level for Kippax Welfare ARLFC, and Castleford,[2][3] he died from throat cancer (Oropharyngeal cancer).
