India Leadership Conclave is an annual industry event organised by Indian Affairs.[1] Top leaders of the society address on burning issues at the annual conclave from Network 7 Media Group.[2] The objective to debate issues of tremendous significance confronted by India specially the trending topics are presented by the iconic figures on different themes in each edition, in 2013, India Leadership Conclave chose to theme the Conclave as "New India - Agenda for Change".[3] India Leadership Conclave in 2014 debated on a very compelling issue on "Perform or Perish" at a time when the historic National Election Campaigning was at its peak & Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power with a thumping majority.[4]

History

India Leadership Conclave also known as "ILC Power Brands" is an annual leadership event & award program awarded to companies & individuals that have excelled in their respective categories.[5] These set of prestigious & coveted awards are from asia’s most definitive & credible news media in mainstream journalism is from the organisers of Network 7 Media Group,[6] the flagship media company of Indian Affairs's annual Event founded by Satya Brahma, Chairman & Editor-In-Chief of Network 7 Media Group. India Leadership Conclave was started in the year 2009 in Delhi & than subsequently it has successfully completed six annual editions in the cities of Mumbai & Bangalore.[7]

In the year 2015, at the 6th Annual India Leadership Conclave, Datamatics Global Services Founder Chairman Dr. Lalit Kanodia made an inspiring talk on Smart Cities titled "Building India’s Smart Cities – Challenges & Opportunities"[8] emphasising the greater need to accelerate the pace. In the address the veteran IT Leaders said "The Random development of urban areas leads to chaos. The only recently well planned city was Chandigarh. Subsequently, an attempt was made to develop Navi Mumbai as a planned city but I am not sure we have succeeded. Smart Cities will need much better planning. Our Prime Minister has announced that the Centre will give Rs 48,000 crores over a period of 5 years for the development of 100 Smart Cities. The Centre will hence contribute Rs 100 crores per year, per city for 5 years. This is with a proviso that the State must match this figure. Therefore Rs 200 crores per smart city will be available every year for their development for 5 years".[9]

The 7th Annual India Leadership Conclave & Indian Affairs Business Leadership Awards 2016 was held in mumbai on Friday,1 July at Hotel Hilton Mumbai International Airport under the Make in India theme of Advantage India - It is now or never where Nation's 350 iconic leaders from various spectrum of the society attended.[10] Prominent Leaders who spoke at Conclave included Network 7 Media Group Chairman Satya Brahma, Social Activist Mayank Gandhi, Kunika, Nisha Jamvwal, Sandeep Aggarwal of ShopClues, Dr. Debraj Shome.Fim Star Govinda, Tina Ahuja, Sushmita Sen, Karishma Kapoor, Devita Saraf, Manjula Anagani, Shubi Husain, Mukesh Batra, Datamatics Chairman Lalit Surajmal Kanodia among others.[11]

Winners

Since its inception in the year, 2009, the Annual Event has become the meeting points of the foremost leaders of the country & abroad. Late Prime Minister of India Rajeev Gandhi was awarded posthumously in its first Edition.[12] Business Leaders such as Yash Chopra Mukesh Ambani, Uday Kotak, Sudha Murthy, Chanda Kocchar among others received in its very first edition in 2009.[13] Notable figures who received Awards include Ratan Tata, Mukesh Batra, Priyanka Chopra, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Snapdeal Co-Founder Kunal Bahl, Loksatta Founder Nagabhairava Jaya Prakash Narayana among others.[14]
