John "Jackie" Herbert Fleming (9 September 1919[1] 2 August 1984 (aged 64)) born in Warrington, Lancashire, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s and 1950s playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Warrington, and Widnes, as a Stand-off/Five-eighth, he died in Appleton, Warrington, Cheshire.

Playing career

International honours

Jackie Fleming won caps for England while at Warrington in 1948 against France (2 matches), and Wales, in 1949 against Wales, and France, and while at Widnes 1951 against France.[2]

Championship final appearances

Jackie Fleming played Stand-off/Five-eighth, i.e. number 6, in Warrington's 15-5 victory over Bradford Northern in the Championship final during the 1947–48 season at Maine Road, Manchester.[3]

Challenge Cup final appearances

Jackie Fleming played in Widnes' 0-19 defeat by Warrington in the 1950 Challenge Cup final during the 1949–50 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 6 May 1950.[4]
