James W. Fesler

James William Fesler (March 14, 1911 – April 26, 2005)[1] was a well-known scholar of public administration, and the Alfred Cowles Professor Emeritus of Government at Yale University. He received the Dwight Waldo Award of the American Society for Public Administration for lifetime contributions to the literature of public administration. He also received the John Gaus Award of the American Political Science Association.

Among his works are Area and Administration, a text that began an exploration of what is now called state/space theory.

Fesler died at age 94 on April 26, 2005.
