Jane Postlethwaite

Jane Postlethwaite is an English character comedian, writer and actress. She is originally from Cumbria and lives in Brighton and Hove.[1]

She was a Funny Women Finalist 2015[1][2][3][4] and a Brighton Comedy Festival Squawker Award Finalist 2015.[5] She was nominated for the Latest Awards Best Female Performer Award for her work in a set of comedy plays as part of Brighton Fringe 2014. Her solo character show in which she writes and performs in is called "Made in Cumbria"[6] and was first premiered in the Brighton Fringe 2015. Lynn Ruth Miller of Fringe Review called "Made in Cumbria" a "wonderfully entertaining experience".[7]

"Made in Cumbria" was a sell out success at Brighton Fringe 2016. The show was nominated for the Latest Comedy Award and the Audience Choice Award.[8] The show is going to Edinburgh in August 2016 which will be her debut solo at Edinburgh Fringe.The show is directed by actress and writer Anna Morris, seen on Bad Bridesmaid and Outnumbered.[9]

She is the creator and compere of the Bad Book Project, a monthly, Brighton-based free event where comedians and creatives read from their favourite bad books, which include childhood diaries or stories, fiction, and celebrity autobiographies.[5] She also hosts a podcast, the Spectacular Podcast.[1]
