Grand Ayatollah Javad Gharavi Aliari(born in 1935) is an Iranian Twelver Shi'a Marja. He was born in Tabriz, Iran. He migrated to Najaf to study in Grand Ayatollah al-Khoei's seminaries. He currently teaches in the Seminary of Tehran, Iran.[1][2] He is seen as being close to Iranian reformists.[3]
