John A. Schneider

John A. Schneider, Jr., also known as Jack, (born January 8, 1938) is president of the CBS Television Network.

Career

Schneider was working in national advertising sales when the network in 1958 bought WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Schneider was named General Manager of the station, serving until October 1964, when he was named General Manager of WCBS-TV in New York City. On February 28, 1965, Mr. Schneider was appointed President of the CBS Television Network.[1] He was the original President of Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment Company in 1979, a joint venture of Warner Communications' Warner Cable and American Express. By 1981, he oversaw the launch of MTV.

Schneider has been a Member of the Advisory Board at Digital Turbine, Inc. (alternative name Mandalay Digital Group, Inc.) since April 19, 2011; NeuMedia, Inc. since April 2011; IntelliCell BioSciences, Inc. since October 2011; and Loton Corp. since October 4, 2013. He served as a Member of Advisory Board at AudioEye, Inc.; and as a Director of Envision Solar International, Inc. from April 2, 2014 to March 4, 2015. He served as an Independent Director at Restorgenex Corporation from October 2012 to December 9, 2013 and its Advisor to Board of Directors since December 2011. Schneider served as a Director at Stratus Media Group, Inc. from October 2012 to December 9, 2013.

Philanthropy

Schneider has been chairman of the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis since 1991. He is also a board member for MENTOR / National Mentoring Partnership, and has worked with the St. Vincent's Services to kids.
