John Woolford

John Woolford (30 May 1920 - 9 August 2016) was the muse, confidant and teenage lover of the composer Benjamin Britten.[1][2][3]

He was born Karl Hermann "Wulff" Scherchen on 30 May 1920 in Berlin, the son of the German conductor Hermann Scherchen.[2]
