Josep Palomero

Josep Palomero i Almela (Borriana, 1953) is a Valencian linguist and vice-president of the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua (Valencian Language Academy). He has a degree in Spanish Philology in the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Palomero has combined the job of teacher for high school students, his political career in his village, some positions during some time in the Education Department of the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian regional government), with his literary tasks, always in Catalan language. In 2016 he got his PhD degree in the Jaume I University

Awards

Josep Palomero has gotten several literary awards. The following ones can be pointed out: Jordi de Sant Jordi award, from the Ciutat de València awards (1980), Tirant lo Blanc award (1982), Prize of the Critics of the Valencian Writers (1994), Ciutat d'Alzira award for Novel (1996) and the Theater Eduard Escalante award (2001), among others.
