Kilcashel Stone Fort is a double court cairn and National Monument located in County Mayo, Ireland.[1][2]

Kilcashel Stone Fort is located 800 m (½ mile) southest of Kilmovee.

History

Kilcashel Stone Fort was possibly constructed c. 2500–500 BC.

Description

Kilcashel Stone Fort is 30 m (98 ft) in diameter; the stone wall is 5 m (16 ft) thick and 3 m (9.8 ft) in height.[3] A souterrain is located inside. There is also a bullaun.[4][5]
