L.A. Salami

Lookman Adekunle Salami, better known by his stage name L.A. Salami,[1] is a musician signed to a joint venture between Sunday Best & Domino.[2] He has released two EPs and one album.

Career

In 2014 Burberry asked him to soundtrack their SS/14 Menswear campaign, Zane Lowe singled him out as a future star of BBC Radio 1, and Esquire Magazine featured him as one of the ten ‘Most Stylish Men In Music’.[2][3]

The singer, who British fashion brand Fred Perry compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Neil Young,[4] has been played on British radio[5][6][7] and has toured.[2]

L.A. Salami's first notable break came in 2012 when chosen to support Lianne La Havas on tour.[1] Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer at fashion house Burberry, then got in contact[1] to arrange a Burberry Acoustic Session[8] which led to L.A. Salami opening the Burberry Prorsum Menswear Spring/Summer 2014 show in Kensington Palace Gardens, Hyde Park.[1]

On 20 June 2013 the Evening Standard newspaper ran a full page piece on L.A. Salami in the form of an interview with journalist Susannah Butter where he talks openly about growing up and developing a fascination with music.[1]

L.A. Salami first EP, Another Shade of Blue was released through boutique London label Camouflage Recordings in 2013.[9] He released The Prelude EP in 2014, which was followed by a short tour around Britain[10][11]

In August 2016 he released the album Dancing with Bad Grammar that featured the single "The City Nowadays".[12][13]
