Ladi Balogun

Born, 12th April 1972, Ladi Balogun is one of four sons of the renowned banker and philanthropist in Nigeria, Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun

Ladi Balogun was educated in Charterhouse school and University of East Anglia both in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a degree in Economics. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, where he earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Career

He started his career as a graduate trainee at the erstwhile British investment bank, Morgan Grenfell, in 1993. He was at one time employed at Citibank in New York. In 2007, at the age of 35, he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of First City Monument Bank Nigeria, where he led the transformation of the business from a small family owned merchant bank to a 200 branch retail bank as at 2016. He is Chairman of Credit Direct Limited, a leading micro-lender in Nigeria and a Director of FCMB Bank (UK) Limited.
