Lansdale Ghiselin Sasscer, Jr. was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, first elected in 1954.[1]

He is the son of former President of the Maryland Senate and the United States House of Representatives for seven terms from 19391953, Lansdale Sasscer[1]

During World War II Sasscer served in the United States Coast Guard.[1] After the war and finishing law school, he decided to run for the House of Delegates representing Prince George's County, Maryland in 1954 at the age of 28 as a Democrat.[1]

In 1962, he ran for the Maryland State Senate and lost.[1] Later he served on the board of Directors of the Bank of Brandywine.[1]

Sasscer's family has lived in Upper Marlboro, Maryland since the 1760s[1] and currently resides with his wife Anne in the historic Digges-Sasscer house.[2]
