Laurent Chambon

Laurent Chambon (born Laurent Pascal Chambon Guéguen on 22 May 1972 in Châtenay-Malabry France) is a French sociologist[1] and politicologist living in Amsterdam since 1998. Specialist of the question of minorities in politics, he has been elected in the borough of Amsterdam Oud-Zuid for the Dutch Labour Party (Partij van de Arbeid) between March 2006 and May 2010 . He was the only non-Dutch European politician in the Netherlands at the time.

Co-founder of the minority-related website Minorités, he is quite visible, as sociologist and as former politician, in the French media to talk about the Netherlands, and in the Dutch media to talk about the French situation.

Doctor (PhD) in Political sciences, he is also producer for Cherry Juice Recordings and musician, one half of Laurent & Lewis. He teaches French and Political sciences at the Hyperion Lyceum in Amsterdam.
