Libby Gill is a leadership speaker, executive coach and author in Los Angeles, California.[1][2][3][4] She also is the CEO of Libby Gill & Company, an executive coaching and consulting firm.[5] Previously, Gill was Senior Vice President at Universal Studios Television, and Vice President at Sony Pictures Television and Turner Broadcasting.[6]

Gill earned a theater degree from the California State University, Long Beach.[1] She is a member of the Authors Guild and former columnist for The Dallas Morning News.[5][7]

Early life and education

In 1954, Gill was born in New York and raised in Mandarin, Florida.[1] She was one of six children and the daughter of a psychiatrist.[1][6] She attended California State University, Long Beach and earned a degree in theater.[1]

Career

Gill had senior leadership positions at Turner Broadcasting, Universal Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment for fifteen years before founding Libby Gill & Company, an executive coaching and consulting firm, in November 2000.[4][7][8][9] Her clients include AMC Networks, Avery Dennison, CA Technologies, Disney-ABC, Kellogg's, Microsoft, PayPal, Wells Fargo, and others.[5] During this time, she began writing about her experiences as an executive and teaching at a local university.[6] She authored four books and shared her experiences in Bloomberg Businessweek, Time, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.[8] In 2010, Gill's book You Unstuck: Mastering the New Rules of Risk-taking in Work and Life won an Independent Publishers Award.[10]

Gill was also the media consultant responsible for the launch of the Dr Phil television show.[6][7] She has also taught at California State, Northridge.[11]

Personal life

Gill lives in Los Angeles, California and is the mother of two sons.[5][7]
