Miles Parks McCollum (born August 23, 1997),[1] better known by his stage name Lil Yachty, is an American hip hop recording artist. Yachty first gained recognition in August 2015 for his singles "One Night" and "Minnesota" from his debut EP Summer Songs.[2][3][4][5] He released his debut mixtape Lil Boat in March 2016. On June 10, 2016, Yachty announced that he had signed a joint venture record deal with Quality Control Music, Capitol Records, and Motown Records.[6]

Career

In February 2016, Yachty debuted as a model in Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 fashion line at Madison Square Garden.[7] On June 10, 2016 he announced he had signed a joint venture record deal with Quality Control Music, Capitol Records, and Motown Records.[6] He is working on a mixtape with his group of frequent collaborators, the Sailing Team; a mixtape with iLoveMakonnen; and Pretty Boy Millionaires 2, a collaborative mixtape with Soulja Boy, Lil B, and Rich The Kid.[6][8] His debut mixtape Lil Boat was released in March 2016 and his second mixtape Summer Songs 2 was released in July 2016.[9]

Yachty made a guest appearance in a Sprite commercial with Lebron James, where he is seen in an ice cave playing the piano.[10] Lil Yachty was picked to be the face of the new Nautica and UrbanOutfitter collection.[11]

Legal issues

On September 1, 2015, Yachty was arrested at a mall in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with Clarence Logan for credit card fraud. For the 3 total charges he received, the total bond was $10,000.[1]
