List of American Association (20th century) champions

The American Association of Minor League Baseball was a Triple-A baseball league that operated in the United States from 1902 to 1962 and 1969 to 1997. A league champion was determined at the end of each season. Champions have been determined by post-season playoffs or winning the regular season pennant.

History

League champions were determined by different means throughout the American Associations's existence. AA champions from 1902 to 1932 and in 1935 and 1969 were simply the regular season pennant winners. Starting in 1936, either the top two or four teams in the league competed in playoffs to determine a league champion. These playoffs varied between being best-of-five and best-of-seven contests. From 1936 to 1962, a separate series of playoffs were held to determine a representative team to compete in the Junior World Series.

Score and finalist information is only presented when post-season play occurred. The lack of this information indicates a champion by means of winning the regular season pennant.
