List of Wisconsin Badgers football seasons

Camp Randall Stadium, where the Badgers have played since 1917.

This is a list of seasons completed by the Wisconsin Badgers football team of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Since the team's creation in 1889, the Badgers have participated in more than 1,100 officially-sanctioned games, including 27 bowl games.

Wisconsin originally competed as a football independent. As one of the founding members, Wisconsin joined the Big Ten conference, then known as the Western Conference, in 1896, where it has been a member ever since.

The Badgers have had periods of success. During a span from 1993 to 2015, the Badgers have appeared in 21 bowl games in 23 years. Wisconsin also won several Big Ten conference championships in the late 19th and early 20th century, including the very first Big Ten championship in 1896. The Badgers have also experienced periods of futility, especially during the late 1960s and 1970s.

Notes

  1. Overtime rules in college football were introduced in 1996, making ties impossible in the period since.[1]
