Lucien Jerphagnon (7 September 1921 – 16 September 2011) was a French scholar, historian and philosopher specialized in Greek and Roman philosophy.

Biography

Lucien Jerphagnon is the son Émile Jerphagnon, a regional engineer of French Ministry of National Education and Madame Jerphagnon, born Jeanne Lallemand.

He became doctor in philosophy under professor Vladimir Jankélévitch (1965) and became a lecturer at the University of Franche-Comté of Besancon (1966-1970) and professor at the Caen University (1970-1984).
