Lynmouth is a suburb of New Plymouth in the Taranaki Region of New Zealand. It is located to the west of the city centre. The population was 2,142 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 78 from 2001.[1]

Taranaki Base Hospital is between Lynmouth and Westown to the south.[2]

Education

Devon Intermediate is an intermediate (years 7-8) school with a decile rating of 4[3] and a roll of 267[4] (July 2016). The school was established in 1958.[5] The uniform consists of a polo shirt, sweatshirt and then for girls a choice of culottes or a skirt and boys wear shorts.

West End School and St Joseph's School are contributing primary (years 1-6) schools with decile ratings of 6[6] and 8,[7] and rolls of 345[4] and 253[4] respectively (July 2016). St Joseph's is a state integrated Catholic school.[8]

All these schools are coeducational.
