Mari Käbin

Mari Käbin (born May 23, 1958, Tallinn, Estonia) is an Estonian artist and jewelry designer.[1] She is also known as a book designer.

Biography

Käbin began her studies at the Kopli Art School in 1973 and after graduating worked at Jewellery Plant as a jeweler since 1980. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1986, studying under professor Salme Raunam.

Between 1986 and 1990 Käbin worked making graphic designs for Nõmme Cultural House. She worked as a freelance artist from 1991 - 1994 and started teaching art in 1994. She worked at Tallinna Pelgulinna Art Gymnasium and at Rahumäe Elementary School.

Käbin has had both solo and group exhibitions throughout the world. Her jewelry designs have been displayed in various museums and exhibitions in Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany and the US, among others.
