Habib al-Rahman al-Azmi was an Indian Scholar of Hadith and Fiqh. He was born in the town Maunath Bhanjan[2] in the Mau district, in the Uttar Pradesh State. He completed the formal education in Mau in 1922 and took up a teaching assignment there.[3]

He helped to bring the Musannaf of Abd al-Razzaq al-San'ani back to attention within the Muslim world.[4]
