Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center

The Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center (MHMC), a for-profit hospital, is located at 55 Meadowlands Parkway in Secaucus, New Jersey. Established in 1976 as a non-profit, it was purchased in December 2010 while near bankruptcy by MHA LLC, owned and operated by Richard Lipsky, a former anesthesiologist, Tamara Dunaev; Pavel Pogodin; and Anastasia Burlyuk.[1][2]

According to a study conducted by National Nurses United and released in January 2014, Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center is the most expensive hospital in the nation based hospital claims in 2011-12.[3]

The company's financial dealings have been questioned, including possible conflicts of interest with companies owned by its principals, and fines for late employment tax payments and required financial disclosures.[2][1]

The hospital has been accused of false advertising in its "AmeriMama" program that offers birth tourism to pregnant Russians.[4][5][6]
