Mehmadpur is a village in Bhulath Tehsil in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from Bhulath, 23 kilometres (14 mi) away from district headquarter Kapurthala. The village is administrated by a sarpanch, an elected representative of the village.[2]

Demography

According to the report published by Census India in 2011, Mehmadpur has 162 houses with the total population of 641 persons of which 299 are male and 342 females. Literacy rate of Mehmadpur is 80.94%, higher than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children in the age group 0–6 years is 64 which is 9.98% of the total population.
