Melody Zoë Klaver is a Dutch actress.

Early life and education

Klaver has two older sisters, actress Kimberley Klaver and dancer Stephanie Klaver. She Klaver received her professional training at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she graduated in July 2014.

Career

She played the part of Heleen in Diep (2005), a dramatic movie by Simone van Dusseldorp, for which Klaver received a Golden Calf nomination, one of the most important film awards in the Netherlands. She played the role of Debby in Afblijven (2006) and starred as Erica van Beusekom in Oorlogswinter (2008), a World War II movie set in Nazi-occupied Netherlands in January 1945. She played in several TV series, such as Van God Los and Bagels en Bubbels -Zij hoort bij mij-.

Awards

She won a Rembrandt Award (People's Choice award) for best actress, for her role in Oorlogswinter (2008), and the Kemna Award for best and most outstanding actor at the International Theatreschool Festival in Amsterdam 2014.

Personal life

In June 2007, Klaver's boyfriend, Timo Smeehuijzen, was killed by a suicide attack during his military service in Afghanistan.
