Memoria Abierta

Memoria Abierta, Spanish for Open Memory, is an award winning alliance of Argentine non-governmental organizations on human rights in Buenos Aires.[1]

Estas Organizaciones trabajan para aumentar el nivel de información y conciencia social sobre el terrorismo de Estado y para enriquecer la cultura democrática.[2]

The goal of Memoria Abierta is keeping the memory alive of the state aggression during the Dirty War (1974-1983).[1]

The founding organizations of Memoria Abierta are Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, Servicio Paz y Justicia, Centro de Estudios Legales y Sociales, Fundación Memoria Histórica y Social Argentina and Asamblea Permanente por los Derechos Humanos.[3]

In 2004 the organizations was honored with a Prince Claus Award from the Netherlands for spreading the knowledge of this past, which in view of the jury empowers a democratic culture.[1]
