Mervat Amin (Arabic: ميرفت أمين) (Born: November 24, 1946), is an Egyptian actress in El-Menya in Egypt. Her father is Egyptian and her mother Scottish. During the 1970s her mother was the Head of the Elementary School of El Nasr School Heliopolis, Egypt (formerly The English School, Cairo). Her father, Dr. Ahmad Amin, was the physician of the same institution.

Amin's first fame came when she starred with Abdel Halim Hafez in his last film, Abi Foq El Chagara (My Father Is Up the Tree).[1]

From there she became one of the most successful Egyptian actors in the 1970s and early 1980s during which she starred in many Egyptian films.

Mervat Amin was married four times. She was the second wife of Egyptian guitarist Omar Khorshid, as well as the second wife of the famous Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy between 1974 and 1986. They had a daughter together, their marriage ending in divorce in 1986.[1]
