Michael Thomas Shawaryn (born September 17, 1994) is an professional American baseball player in the Boston Red Sox organization.[1]

Career

Shawaryn was recruited by Duke, Maryland, Louisiana State, Stony Brook and Vanderbilt.[2] Shawaryn in the end chose Maryland, persuaded by the pitching coach who went to his games on the Terrapins off days.[3] Shawaryn was previously drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 32nd round of the 2013 draft, and did not sign because of his commitment to Maryland.[2] Coming into the 2016 season, Shawaryn was named a first team All-American.[4] Shawaryn spent 2016 with the Lowell Spinners where he posted a 2.87 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched.[5]
