Minister for Finance (Singapore)

The Minister for Finance is an appointment in the Cabinet of Singapore and heads the Ministry of Finance.^[1] Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who was Second Minister for Finance, took over the ministership on 2007-12-01 when Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong relinquished the Finance post.^[2] The current Finance Minister is Heng Swee Keat. On 12 May 2016, Heng Swee Keat collapsed at 5.34pm during a Cabinet meeting, therefore Tharman was immediately appointed as the acting Finance Minister after Heng Swee Keat has collapsed.
