Miss Universe Malaysia is one of the biggest beauty pageant in Malaysia that sends the winner to the Miss Universe pageant. The pageant was established in 1964 and the original winner of Miss Malaysia Universe was Angela Filmer of Selangor even though Malaya has sent their first ever delegate in 1962 to Miss Universe and the pageant is considered the longest pageant in Malaysia.

The winner of Miss Universe Malaysia represents her country at the Miss Universe pageant. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent.

The Miss Universe Malaysia motto is HIP, Urban, Relevant and Real and Elaine Daly (Miss Malaysia Universe 2003) is the national director of Miss Universe Malaysia Organization since 2016 replacing the former president, Carey Ng who was resigned 2 days after the crowning moments of Kiran Jassal.

The current Miss Universe Malaysia is Kiran Jassal of Selangor, who was crowned on January 30, 2016 in Seri Kembangan, Kuala Lumpur.
