Mohamed Omar (in Arabic: محمد عمر) is an Egyptian digital media personality and digital Managing Editor. Since April 2016, he works as Egypt Country Media Consultant for Twitter[1][2][3] after serving as FilFan.com Managing Editor,[4] the leading Arabic-language entertainment news portal in the Arab region Category, for three years.[5][6][7][8]

Biography

Mohamed Omar was born in Cairo. He was awarded as the best journalist student at the school when he was 12 years old.[9] Omar studied History and graduated from Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, in 2012.

Career

Mohamed Omar started his journalistic career early at the age of sixteen in 2008, at Washwasha, an entertainment tabloid, and He worked at Youth Department then moved to the Entertainment Department where he succeeded to interview many Arabic stars; Tamer Hosny, Mohamed Hamaki, Angham, Samira Said, Rami Ayach, Samo Zaen, Myriam Fares, Amr Adib, Mohamed Aboutrika, and many others. Before joining FilFan.com, Omar worked as a TV reporter in several well-known Arab media, including Ara and Laha Magazine. He also worked as TV reporter at The Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) for the TV show Shawshara -the Egyptian version of The Insider (TV series)- then he joined Nile TV for few months (May 2010 to January 2011).

When he turned 21, he took the position of editor in chief in the website FilFan.com, in April 2013 and starts to work with Twitter at 24.
