Musical Prostheses

Digital musical instruments that are made in the form of Prosthesis are called Musical Prostheses. A group of researchers from McGill University Canada designed several digital musical instruments in the form of moving parts of the body like the Rib and spine.[1]

These prostheses like digital musical instruments would attach to the performers' bodies and would be used in the live performance of the dance and music. This system uses a computer to synthesise sound.[2]

The custom-designed, 3D-printed prosthetic pieces by the researchers Joseph Malloch and Ian Hattwick under the supervision of Marcelo M. Wanderley play music as the wearer dances.[3]
