Myshelovka (Russian: Мышеловка, Mousetrap) is the third studio album by the Russian punk rock band Grazhdanskaya Oborona. The album was and released in 1987. It was recorded by Yegor Letov, who wrote and recorded the album entirely by himself. Myshelovka was the first album by Letov signed under the name of a punk band Grazhdanskaya Oborona of a series of records since 1987 until May 1989.

History

After the mental asylum Yegor Letov left without his group members. In 1987 he learned to play all the instruments himself. Prior to the start of recording of the album Letov acts on the first Novosibirsk rock festival with Oleg Lischenko and Yevgeni Lischenko. After the concert Letov expected another persecution by the KGB and started to record tracks on the cassette recorder "Olympus" in Omsk.

The album was recorded in the genre of noise punk with elements of hardcore and reggae. His many albums were recorded with minimal technology in Letov's apartment or the apartments of friends and a changing cast of collaborators. He was so prolific, recording other groups as well, that his apartment came to be known as GrOb Studio, or GrOb Records.

Lyrics were often anti-Soviet dissident character with elements of surrealism. The author of the phrase 'Ivan Govnov—ubiytsa travi' (English: Ivan Govnov is a grass killer) is Yevgeny Filatov.

In the song 'Blind eye' mentioned major without tears. The prototype of major was major of the KGB, Vladimir Meshkov, who forced Letov to a mental asylum. The major is also mentioned in the songs 'We are the ice' and 'Ashamed' (album "Totalitarianism").

The song 'Traces in the snow' has been covered by Letov in the composition of the psychedelic band Egor and Opizdenevshie in 1993.

Also title 'Traces in the snow' (Russian: Следы на снегу) was used for the documentary film directed by Vladimir Kozlov, where the musicians of the Siberian punk rock give interviews and tell the story of the formation of Siberian punk.
