N.V.Reddi Naidu (Telugu: నాయుడు), actually Nandikolla Venkata Reddi Naidu (1880–1945), was an Indian painter from Andhra Pradesh during British Raj in South India, who achieved recognition for his paintings landscapes, portraits of maharajahs and maharanis of his days.

Early life

Reddi Naidu was born at Injaram near Cocanada (presently Kakinada) East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh .his father N.Venkateswarao was a wealthy Zamindari landlord. He hailed from Well known Telaga Naidu Family. He was the youngest of the two sons, his elder brother N.Gopala Rao was a gifted painter know as father of modern art of Andhrapradesh, Reddi Naidu learned his artistic skills from his elder brother N.Gopala Rao.

Career

Reddi Naidu was a great landscape and portrait painter who had made number of paintings of men and women during his days, he was a very skilled artist like his brother, he painted his eldest brother portrait N.Gopala Rao in 1945,Sri Venkata Reddi Naidu was a fine landscape painter .he found his inspiration in the beautiful landscapes of the region .Venkata Reddi naidu painted one of the famous painting 'Saium Sandhya' meaning "setting of the sun .Reddi Naidu accompanied his brother and won number of prestgious prices from kings and queens for there portraits .
