Career

Music

In May 2012, Hissom formally announced his move into the music industry on the white carpet at the Billboard Music Awards. Tommy Hilfiger and Berry Gordy accompanied Nick at the event.[3] Shortly after the Billboard Music Awards, Hissom gave his debut performance of his single "Killin' Tonight" at Tryst nightclub at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas. "Killin' Tonight" is a collaboration between Hissom and top DJ duo Manufactured Superstars. In order to promote "Killin' Tonight," Manufactured Superstars and Hissom embarked on national US tour, performing at notable venues such as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and on the main stage at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, NV.[4][5]

On 1 July 2013 Hissom released his first official single "If I Die Young". The song was produced by Mick Schultz and was released to much critical acclaim both within the US and Internationally, reaching the No.1 spot on Number 1 FM in Turkey within 48 hours of release.[6][7][8] The success of "If I Die Young" in Europe prompted a surprise performance of the single at VIP Room, an exclusive nightclub located in St. Tropez, France, where Hissom had been vacationing with his family.[9] In mid-July Hissom premiered "If I Die Young" to national US Top 40 radio on Cumulus Media's "Live Nights with Adam Bomb" talk show.[10] Following his appearance on "Live Nights", Hissom performed at Cumulus's What Women Want Expo hosted by 92 Pro FM as an opener for Tegan and Sara.[11] The music video for "If I Die Young" premiered exclusively on Fuse TV on 6 September 2013 and stars Playboy's Miss July Alyssa Arcé as Hissom's love interest.[12] Since its release, the music video for "If I Die Young" has been featured on MTV[13] and American Airlines.[14]

Fashion

Hissom was scouted by The Talent Net (a talent management company) in the summer of 2010 just before his high school graduation from the prestigious Institut Le Rosey. Within a short period of time, he was signed worldwide, boasting multiple modelling agencies throughout Europe and the United States. Since then, Hissom went on to work with famed fashion photographers such as Kai Z Feng and Greg Harris, and appeared in; editorials for GQ Magazine, various high end advertising campaigns, and model on numerous occasions for fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger.[15] Since February 2012, Nick has consistently been featured monthly on covers and in editorials for high-profile magazines, such as Interview Magazine.

Personal life

Hissom was born to his American parents Andrea (née Danenza) and American banker Robert Hissom in London, England. After attending high school in Switzerland, he enrolled in college at the University of Pennsylvania in September 2010.[16][17][18] In April 2011, his mother married Las Vegas casino billionaire Steve Wynn following a romance which began on the French Riviera.[19] Hissom currently lives in New York City.
