Nissar Ahmed is an Indian Educationist, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, CO Founder Chairman of Presidency Group of Institutions (The PGI Group) and Founder Chancellor of Presidency University, Bangalore.

Nissar Ahmed is an Edupreneur, having forayed into the education sector in the year 1976, when along with his late uncle Janab Abdul Hameed, he co-founded the Presidency Group of Institutions. Due to the untimely demise of the Janab Abdul Hamid in 1980, the mantle of managing the entire group rested on the young 24-year old Nissar Ahmed.

Since then the group has grown from a single school to seven schools, a college and a University with over 16,000 students.

While the schools offer ICSE and CBSE syllabus in Bengaluru and Mangaluru, there are two Pre-University colleges at Hebbal and J P Nagar, and Presidency College that is affiliated to Bangalore University offers UG and PG courses.

Leading from the front, Nissar is closely involved in planning and driving every facet of his Group, ranging from talent acquisition, planning of curriculum, introducing innovative methods of teaching and upgrading the infrastructure facilities, among others.

He believes that “Leaders keep faith with the past, keep step with the present and keep promise with posterity!”
