NopSec is a provider of vulnerability management through its SaaS product, Unified VRM and penetration testing services. Founded in 2011 by Michelangelo Sidagni, NopSec was named in CRN Magazine's list of Emerging Security Vendors from 2012 to 2016 [1] and was named as one of the 20 Most Promising Enterprise Security Companies of 2015 by CIO Review.[2] Today, NopSec’s customer base spans many industries including financial, healthcare, government, education and oil and gas.[3]

History

NopSec was founded in 2011 by Michelangelo Sidagni in New York City. Sidagni's aim was to take his experience in vulnerability management and penetration testing to develop a product that affected how organizations identify and respond to cyber threats. Previously, Sidagni served as Director of Security Services at Ciphertechs and was a lead internal auditor at Blue Cross Blue Shield.

In 2011, NopSec started to grow as a leading provider of penetration testing and vulnerability analysis services, primarily focused on the banking and financial sector. To meet the demand by customers to bring increased automation and better visibility to their vulnerability risk management programs, NopSec began building a platform to address the need. In 2012, NopSec launched its flagship product, Unified VRM, a platform that helps organizations improve how they detect, prioritize, and remediate the growing number of security vulnerabilities across their network, applications, and endpoints.

In 2011, Lisa Xu joined the company as Chief Executive Officer to oversee the strategic and operational functions for NopSec. Xu has more than two decades experience in data security, privacy and technology risk management, and led diverse teams at Accenture and Ally Financial.

Unified VRM

NopSec Unified VRM is a cloud-based solution that allows organizations to identify, prioritize, manage, and report on IT vulnerabilities from a single platform.[4] Leveraging machine learning, threat intelligence, and other risk-based analytics, NopSec Unified VRM turns vulnerability scan data into actionable information to forecast the likelihood of exploitation and focus remediation efforts on the most critical threats.
